ACCREDITATION
The Puerto Rico Podiatric Medical Society 2023 CONVENTION is a joint providership activity with the William L. Goldfarb Foundation.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards and requirements for approval of providers of continuing education in podiatric medicine through a joint provider agreement between the William L. Goldfarb Foundation and the Puerto Rico Podiatric Medical Society. The William L. Goldfarb Foundation is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. The William L. Goldfarb Foundation has approved this activity for a maximum of 18.5 continuing education contact hours.

NEED ASSESMENT
The Puerto Rico Podiatric Medical Society academic seminar will provide medical education conferences by highly knowledgeable and trained faculty. Current and modern techniques in orthoplastic, reconstructive, arthroscopic surgery, among other topics will be presented. The program will also focus on important concepts for wound care management, skin grafts, and diabetic foot. Topics such as forefoot surgery complications, flat foot, ankle fracture management, Q&A sessions and case presentation will provide tremendous and valuable information to the participants.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this meeting, the attendee shall be able to:
1. Learn to treat the most common sport injuries.
2. Identify burn injuries and treatment protocols.
3. To have general knowledge on regenerative medicine
4. Recognize and treat peripheral neurological conditions.
5. Improve minimal incision surgical techniques for common foot pathologies.
6. Properly evaluate charcot foot onset and provide adequate treatment.
7. Expand knowledge on orthoplastic techniques.
8. Improve digital surgery outcomes.
9. Properly diagnose acute limb ischemia.
10. Learn how to communicate with patients when results are not the expected.
11. Understand the importance of a complete medical clearance.
12. Pay attention to intraoperative physiological changes of our patients.
13. To know the benefits of intraoperative platelet rich plasma therapy to improve results.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This conference is intended for podiatric physicians and podiatric assistants. No prerequisite levels of skill, knowledge, or experience required of learners.
